PC Gilmore and North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) dispute solo lead in Group A Tuesday in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) D-League Foundation Cup at the JCSGO gym in Cubao, Quezon City.

The Wizards and the Road Warriors battle it out at 4 p.m. Both squads are coming off from rousing victories.

PC Gilmore is fresh from a tense 99-97 win over Pharex last April 5. The Wizards go for their third straight win.

“We are not a strong team yet but it’s a good lesson for our team this early in the tournament," said PC Gilmore coach Richard Del Rosario. “We can’t engage NLEX in a shooting contest so we have to play good defense."

NLEX beat RnW Pacific Pipes, 87-72, last March 31.

“That game really tested our character. Individually, we are strong but we have to play as a team," said NLEX coach Boyet Fernandez.

In the first game, Maynilad looks to solidify the second spot in Group B as the Water Dragons take on FCA at 2 p.m.

The Water Dragons trounced Café France, 106-74, last April 5 to improve to a 2-1 record. They tied Cebuana Lhuillier after the Gems lost to Junior Powerade, 77-73, last April 7.

But they have to do it without coach Frankie Lim as he was slapped with a one-game suspension and a P5,000 fine for shoving Café France’s Ildefonso Bulangis late in the fourth quarter.

The Cultivators will try to atone from their 80-58 defeat against Cebuana Lhuillier last March 31.
