MAX Bond Super Glue coach Pido Jarencio is confident his charges would bounce back today when they clash with Café France in the resumption of the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Adamson Gym. The Sumos were a total mess in their 61-82 defeat to the Maynilad Water Dragons last week, a game that Jarencio described as some sort of getting-the feel-of-it for most of his players.
"’Yun kasing mga beterano ko medyo matagal ding hindi naka-paglaro ng competitive basketball mula ng mawala ang PBL, so medyo nangangapa pa sila," said Jarencio, whose team takes on Café France at 2 p.m. in a Group B match-up.
Café France also lost its kick off game by a huge margin, dropping a 62-83 decision to Cebuana Lhuillier, one of the pre-tournament favorites.
"Malaki ang kumpiyansa ko na makakabawi kami," said Jarencio.
The PC Gilmore Wizards and Freego Jeans also try to enter the win column in Group A when they clash in the other game at 4 o’clock.
PC Gilmore sputtered down the stretch and lost 72-76 to RnW Pacific Pipes on opening day while Freego Jeans got bamboozled by NLEX 71-82.
The games are being telecast on a delayed basis starting at 6 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday on IBC-13.
