FOR Derby Ace coach Jorge Gallent, there’s no need to cry over spilled milk.

With Game 3 of the Llamados’ PBA Philippine Cup semifinals series with Talk `N Text now a
history, Gallent is looking forward to regaining their bearings and get back on track in the
best-of-seven match up.

“It was a lousy game for us, but this is just one game,” he said in the aftermath of the
reigning champions’ 78-92 loss to the Tropang Texters Friday night and fell 1-2 in the series.

Indeed, lousy were the Llamados.

Uncharacteristic for a defending champion, B-Meg committed 24 turnovers which Talk `N Text
converted to 26 points.

The franchise also lost its touch from the outside, shooting a pathetic 2-of-18 from three-point
range.

No less than two-time league MVP James Yap and Peter June Simon typified the Llamados’ shooting struggle from the floor.

The scoring duo were held to a combined 17 points by the Tropang Texters, with Yap going scoreless in the second half when the tournament’s top seeded team pulled away from the Llamados for good.

With Jimmy Alapag tasked to contain him, James Yap called it a night after scoring just 9 points,
on 4-of-13 shooting including 0-for-6 from three-point range.

Similarly worst was Simon, who, following an explosive 26-point performance in Game 2 of the series won by Llamados, was limited to just 8 markers and had only seven attempts from the field.

Talk `N Text mentor Chot Reyes minced no words that his team intends to do the same thing when Game 4 of the series is played Sunday at the Araneta Coliseum.

“There’s no secret in our game-plan, we should be able to control (PJ) Simon,” he said.

“If we can play the same type of defense that we had in Game Three then we have a good chance (at winning Game Four).”

With the Tropang Texters putting premium on containing both Yap and Simon, Larry Fonacier came off the bench and ignited Talk `N Text’s offense.

The shooting forward out of Ateneo fired 15 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the floor, including
3-of-6 from three point range.

He poured in seven of his total output in the opening quarter when the Tropang Texters raced to a 25-19 lead to set the tone of the one-sided match.

“I was kind of passive in the first two games. I went firing as I found good rhythm in this
game,” he said.

But like the rest of the team, he, too, is bracing for that `big B-Meg comeback’ in Game 4.

Reyes totally agrees.

“I’m sure they will comeback strong and we have to be ready,” said the Talk `N Text
coach.(GR)
