Like everyone else, the Talk N’ Text Tropang Texters want to welcome the New Year with a bang.

For them, nothing beats a victory over B-MEG Derby Ace in their best-of-seven semifinal matchup and a shot at the PBA Philippine Cup championship.

Talk N’ Text and B-MEG Derby Ace resume their semis showdown with Game Two Wednesday at the Araneta Coliseum.

The Tropang Texters seek a follow-up on their 98-91 win in the series opener Sunday at the Ynares Sports Center in Antipolo.

“We really want to start the new year right. In fact, we’re not counting Game One anymore. We
consider Game Two as the start of the series. We want to come out strong,” said Talk n Text coach Chot Reyes.

“It’s 2011. We put behind us whatever happened in 2010. Our thinking is that we’re starting
from scratch and we’ll try to establish momentum,” Reyes added.

Reyes and his troops are out to put pressure on Derby Ace, looking for a 2-0 lead in the series
they are favored to win as playoff top seeds.

PBA coaches are split on the San Miguel – Ginebra series but one in the belief that Talk n Text
would beat Derby Ace.

“They’ve been saying we’re the favorites but I’ve been long enough in this league to know
walang bilang ang mga predictions. Anything can happen on the floor. Kaya di namin iniisip yon.
Kailangan magtrabaho,” said Reyes.

During this Christmas break, the Texters have yet to take a rest as they’re working hard to
prepare for Wednesday’s game.

They’re determined to stay sharp, come out strong Wednesday and re-establish momentum that could bring them back to the all-Filipino Finals.

The Texters are out to reclaim the crown they last won in 2009.

Talk n Text has won the all-Filipino championship twice while Reyes has bagged it three times with three different teams.

Reyes emerged triumphant in this prestigious tourney in 1993 with Coney Island, in 2002 with
Coca-Cola and with Talk n Text in 2009.

He's in search of a fourth to tie the record of Tim Cone – second most in the league behind Baby Dalupan's 15.

If ever, that would really be a big bang for the Texters and Reyes.
