MANILA---San Sebastian has recalled Thai import Jeng Bualee in a bid to reverse its fortunes in the Shakey’s V-League Season 8 First Conference.

Winless in three starts, the Lady Stags face Far Eastern U in an Eastern Sunday duel that will determine which team takes the remaining quarterfinal berth in Group A.

The prospect of the Lady Stags getting eliminated early in the tournament seemed far-fetched at the start as they have consistently reached the semifinals in past seasons.

But the reigning NCAA champions have been groping for form, opening up their campaign with a stunning four-set defeat to Southwestern U of Cebu that was followed by losses to Ateneo and Lyceum.

Adding to their woes was the ankle injury sustained by lead attacker Joy Benito in the loss to Southwestern.

The 5-foot-10 Bualee, the league’s top scorer last season, will replace Cherry Macatangay in the San Sebastian lineup.

San Sebastian coach Roger Gorayeb sees no problem with Bualee fitting in with the Lady Stags having played for them in each of the last four seasons.

Bualee, who led the Lady Stags to five championship appearances, including against Adamson in the second conference last season, will be playing in her seventh conference with San Sebastian.
