Golden Boy Promotions offered Ricky Hatton a comeback fight against the resurgent Mexican legend Erik Morales.

Hatton, also known as Hitman, had his last bout in Las Vegas with a devastating loss against Filipino icon Manny Pacquiao in 2009. Ricky was knocked out in the 2nd round with a vicious overhand left that shocked the boxing world and sent the English man to his retirement.

After a two-year hiatus, Hatton is now in the headlines. He is apparently offered by Golden Boy Promotions to fight again according to a report by ringtv.com.

"Erik has shown Ricky that it can be done," De La Hoya said. "He was away for three years but returned to have three fights before putting on a beautiful performance against Marcos Maidana."

Hatton has a huge following and is well loved in England, while Erik “El Terrible” Morales is a living legend in Mexico.

Morales, also a victim of the Pacman express, was knocked out last 2006 in a 3rd round destruction at the hands of the current pound for pound king Manny Pacquiao.

Morales since then has redeemed himself and aspires to be the first Mexican to conquer four divisions to end his Hall of fame career on a spectacular manner, the determination of the aging legend was evident in his recent bout against hotshot Maidana.

Hitman and El Terrible always give the fans what they like, both fighters are proven ring gladiators that draws out huge crowds and rarely disappoint their fans after each fight.

Morales a counter puncher that has superior technique and Hatton a rugged inside puncher presents an interesting match-up. The quintessential fight of Boxer vs. Slugger that interests fight fans.

Can the boxer execute the perfect game plan to muster up a brilliant performance or will the slugger pull off a minor miracle with a lucky punch and knock out the heralded technician.

Considering the massive fan base of both fighters it would be easy for Golden Boy Promotions to hype the fight and revive a falling career to winner of the supposed bout, while adding another meal ticket to their stable of fighters.

If and when it happens, Golden Boy has just found an old goose for them to lay the Golden eggs.
