MANILA, Philippines - Adamson parades national team standouts Michelle and Mayette Carolino as it tries to formalize its entry to the quarterfinal round against National University today even as Perpetual Help goes for a sweep of Group B against University of St. La Salle-Bacolod in the Shakey’s V-League at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

The Lady Falcons have tapped the services of the Carolino sisters for guest players Nene Baustista and Michelle Laborte, who left for Indonesia over the weekend to compete in a beach volley tournament in Batam.

The San Marcelino-based squad, winner of last year’s second conference of the league sponsored by Shakey’s Pizza, is coming off a one-week rest after its previous win over Perpetual Help was nullified for fielding in an ineligible player.

That also gave the Lady Altas a 3-0 card and a chance to match Ateneo’s 4-0 record in Group A as they take on the Lady Stingers in the 2 p.m. opener.

Adamson and NU tangle at 4 p.m. For live streaming of the games, log on to www.v-league.ph.

But against the Lady Bulldogs, the Falcons will be facing a team also in need of a victory for a seat in the next round of the league’s eighth season first conference organized by Sports Vision and backed by Accel as official outfitter and Mikasa as official ball.

“Despite the forfeiture, we remain confident of our chances but we have to play our game,” said Adamson coach Dulce Pante, whose wards tote a 1-1 card heading into the last two playdates in the single round elims.

Perpetual Help (3-0) and USLS (2-1) are assured of spots in the quarters but the two teams are expected to go all out to improve their respective bids going into the carry-over quarterfinal phase.

Ateneo, Southwestern U (3-1) and Lyceum clinched the first three quarters berths in Group A with the last seat to be disputed by San Sebastian and Far Eastern on Sunday.
