MANILA, Philippines — If the May 7 fight turns out the way he hopes it would, Bob Arum will again look at the possibility of putting Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather together, stressing that such a megafight can be done.

“That fight is not hard to make. It’s up to Floyd Mayweather. If Mayweather wants to fight Manny, I mean, obviously, Manny has to get by (Shane) Mosley (on May 7 at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas),” Arum told Fanhouse.

“But of course we would look to fight Mayweather next. It’s not a hard fight to make. It’s not hard at all. All Floyd Mayweather has to do is to say yes, and everything else would fall into place,” Arum said.

Arum’s optimism and renewed interest in Mayweather stem from his recent association with long-time rival Don King.

Last week, Arum and King were together promoting their March 12 show featuring Miguel Cotto and Ricardo Mayorga and ringsiders believe they got the chance to delve into the possibility of making a Pacquiao-Mayweather fight down the line.

Mayweather, however, is in a legal bind and is due in court for domestic violence and misdemeanor battery charges. If convicted, Mayweather can be sentenced to as much as 34 years in prison.

But if he escapes conviction, Mayweather will be back in the boxing spotlight and a third attempt to make a fight with Pacquiao would again set in motion.

A few months back, King was visited by Mayweather in Florida and although nothing came out of their meetings, it is widely believed that the unbeaten fighter will tap King to represent him if ever he decides to face Pacquiao.

Efforts to make the fight have failed twice owing to differences in drug testing.

Still, King sees a rosy picture with him in the scene.

“The two of them meeting is inevitable. They should meet,” King told fanhouse.
