In an instance, he holds the UAAP junior record of most number of points in a single game at 69 when he led University of the Philippines Integrated School to victory over University of the East in 1994. In fact, Mendoza’s 48 points – the highest output made by collegiate player – in the 1997 UAAP season stays unbreakable until now.

Florendo Ritualo, Jr.(born June 14, 1979 in Manila, Philippines) is a Filipinoprofessionalbasketballplayer in the Philippine Basketball Associationfor the Powerade Tigers. Nicknamed Ren-Renand The Rainman, Ritualo was also a one-time member of the Philippine national basketball team, and is the son of former PBAplayer Florendo Ritualo and Maria Yasoña de Ramos of Lumban, Laguna
Philippine Basketball Association

[edit]FedEx/Air21 Express
Ritualo was selected as the eight overall pick in the 2002 PBA Draft by expansion team FedEx Express. But before Ritualo was set to join FedEx, he was part of the RP National Training Pool for the 2002 Busan Asian Games. Ritualo was cut from the team and returned to his mother team.
Ritualo had a strong rookie for FedEx and by season's end, he was named as the 2002 PBA Rookie of the Year and also the 2002 Sixth Man of the Year winner by the PBA Press Corps.
Ritualo also recorded a 40-point output against Purefoods on January 27, 2006 during Game three of the Fiesta Conference Semi-Finals series, held in the Ynarez Sports Complex. Ritualo led Air21 to a third place finish, the highest in franchise history during that time before the team captured a runner-up finish against the Barangay Ginebra Kings.
Ritualo, was also the first local player in PBA history to have four games in a career with at least eight three pointers in each of those games.
He has also participated in two PBA All-Star games, when he was part of the North All-Stars in the 2005 All-Star Game in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte and the 2006 edition in Cagayan de Oro City.
[edit]Talk 'N Text Phone Pals
On May 8, 2006, Ritualo, along with Patrick Fran, was traded from Air21 to the Talk 'N Text Phone Pals in exchange for Leo Avenido and two future first round draft picks, which was used in 2007 and 2008.
With Ritualo's addition, as well as the trade that sent Alaska Aces slotman Don Allado to the Phone Pals for Willie Miller and John Ferriols, the Phone Pals were considered as one of the deepest lineups in the 2006 Philippine Cup. However, the Phone Pals never made it past the wildcard phase, ending their season. During the 2007 Philippine Cup, Ritualo averaged 13.83 points per game in the 18 Games of the Elimination Round.
In the 2008-209 Philippine Cup, Ritualo got his much awaited 1st PBA Title against the Alaska Aces. Though winning championships seemed so easy for him during the amateur ranks, it took him 7 years in the PBA to win a championship.
[edit]Return to the Air21 Express
During the off-season of the 2010 Fiesta Conference, he was traded back to the Air21 Express along with Yancy de Ocampo for J.R. Quiñahan and Aaron Aban.
[edit]Powerade Tigers
After playing for the Express, he was acquired by the Powerade Tigers during the off-season.

Lucia when his celebrated teammate was sent to Ginebra via a trade with Marlou Aquino in 2000. 2006-2007 PBA All-Defensive First Team
2003 PBL Most Valuable Player

Player profile

David first entered the PBA in 2004 and was the tenth overall draft pick by the Coca-Cola Tigers. He played one season for the Tigers where he had limited minutes. He was then shifted to Air21 and the rest is history.
He was considered a major steal in the 2005 mid season after Air21 got him. David brought high energy to Air21’s running game and led the Express to a third place finish in the 31st PBA Fiesta Conference. David exploded for 19 points to carry Air21 to its first-ever Final Four appearance after upsetting the Darvin Ham-led Talk 'N Text Phone Pals, 117-110, in Game 5 of the quarterfinals on January 20, 2006 in Antipolo City.
If not for an elbow injury, David was on the verge of having an impressive season and probably an MVP award to boot. Despite several injuries in the past, David took the cudgels as the team's go-to-guy after former franchise player Renren Ritualo was shipped to Talk 'N Text and the energetic Ronald Tubid to Ginebra.
The 2003 PBL MVP played under Moñtana Pawnshop and emerged from being an effective role player to superstar status after improving his numbers where he also captured various awards.
[edit]Air21 Express
During the 2006-07 PBA season, he improved his numbers significantly by averaging 21.3 points per game with 4.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists to go. He then got injured causing Air21's semi-finals bid to go down the drain. Before he got injured though, he earned several awards during the season including the PBA Most Improved Player.
In the 2007-08 PBA season, David came back in action as he led the team in scoring again averaging 16.3 points per game. He led the team to the 2008 PBA Fiesta Conference Finals against the Barangay Ginebra Kings but eventually lost the series in seven games.
During the 2008-09 PBA season, David immediately led the Air21 Express as one of the contenders to win the title. Unfortunately, after trading Ranidel de Ocampo to the Talk 'N Text Tropang Texters, the team only managed to muster 1 win in the next 4 games without de Ocampo. His team finished at a disappointing 8th spot and eventually lost to the San Miguel Beermen during the wildcard phase. He led his team again in scoring during the conference with 19.2 points per game including 4.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists.
[edit]Coca-Cola/Powerade Tigers
Expected to lead his team all by himself, David started slow during the 2009-10 Philippine Cup by only averaging 14.1 points per game and only winning 5 out of 16 games with the Air21 Express. At that point, he was already asking for a trade. On January 4, 2010, he was then traded to the Coca-Cola Tigers for Alex Cabagnot and Wesley Gonzales.[1] Due to Coca-Cola's record before David came, they ended up in the wildcard phase and were eventually eliminated by the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters.[2]
2010 PBA Fiesta Conference was a blast for David as he led the PBA in scoring with 21.9 points per game along with 3.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. But due to lack of support, his team wounded up in the wildcard phase again with a 8-10 record. They got pass the Sta. Lucia Realtors but were eliminated again by the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters for the final spot in the Quarterfinals. Though he was the league's leading scorer, a poor team finished led him to lost the Best Player of the Conference Award to San Miguel Beermen's Jay Washington.[3]

He was known for producing big points, sometimes double-double during his amateur days and while he was playing in the defunct MBA. Known also as a good defensive stopper inside and outside, Gonzales spent his first two years with Talk 'N Text before signing up as a free agent with Sta. Lucia. He was dragged to controversy in the middle of 2003 regarding his illegal drug use while playing for Talk 'N Text, and his basketball career went down seemingly. But instead of giving up, Gonzales proved his innocence and continuously improved his game especially when Sta. Lucia team governor Buddy Encarnado gave him another chance to redeem his sinking career in 2004.
[edit]Coca-Cola Tigers
On August 27, 2009 he was signed by the Coca-Cola Tigers as a free agent.

He currently plays in the Philippine Basketball Associationfor the Powerade Tigers. Known by many as The Dominator, he is a former MBA MVP. He is acknowledged as one of the greatest players to come from Zamboanga del Norte.

Philippine Basketball Association
In 2003, Laure was selected third overall by the Shell Turbo Chargers in the PBA Draft. He had a decent rookie campaign with Shell posting double figures in points but was unable to lead the Turbo Chargers to a respectable record.
He was traded in 2004 to Purefoods for Billy Mamaril but struggled in his stint with the TJ Hotdogs while nursing a knee injury. The 6'4 forward played for just 24 games in the 2004-05 season, and hardly a factor on offense but had a few games where he shone on the defensive end.
In the 2005-06 season, he joined the Alaska Aces and was a key contributor off the bench. Due to the injury of Reynel Hugnatan, he was given significant playing time. Along with Hugnatan, Laure was also joined by John Ferriols, a fellow former MBA MVP, in a trio of former MBA superstars in the Alaska fold.
24 hours after the 2008 Rookie Draft proper, he was traded to his former PBL team, the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, together with fifth overall pick Solomon Mercado for former No. 1 pick, Joe Devance, and two future second round picks.
In the off-season of 2010, he was traded to the Powerade Tigers together with Rain or Shine's 1st round pick in 2011 in exchange for Larry Rodriguez.
