Anthony Jay Washington, better known as Jay Washington, is a Filipinoprofessional basketballplayer in the Philippine Basketball Associationfor the San Miguel Beermen. A 6-foot-7 forward that is very versatile. He was selected 1st overall draft pick in 2005by the Air21 Expressand was traded to the Talk 'N Text Phone Palsduring draft day. He had a decent stint with the Talk 'N Text Phone Pals putting up good numbers but wasn't enough to overcome expectations and struggled with the deep rotation of the team. He was then shipped to San Miguel Beermenin 2008 in exchange for the draft rights of 2008 3rd Overall Pick Jason Castro. Luckily for Jay, being traded has been the best thing so far in his basketball career. He helped San Miguel win its 18th championship in the 2009 PBA Fiesta ConferenceChampions. Considered one of the top players in the PBA. During the 2010 PBA Fiesta Conference, he was awarded the Best Player of the Conference. Jay has been a 3 time Mythical First Team Awardee so far in his PBA career.
