If not for a hamstring injury that sidelined him in a couple of games into their semifinal series against Ginebra, Rain or Shine could have gone farther in the Fiesta Conference. A member of the All-Rookie Team, Mercado finished second to teammate Gabe Norwood for Rookie of the Year honors. The No. 3 overall pick in 2008 emerged as the teams top scorer with 13.5 per game and his 4.5 assists per night did not only lead the team but was also No. 6 overall among locals. The only glitch in his rookie season was his 2.9 turnovers per game which ranked seventh overall and led the rookies in that category. Rain or Shine hopes that the six-foot-one guard has fully recovered from the injury to have another bright campaign in this coming season.

Solomon Mercado is a Filipino professional basketball player. Mercado is currently playing for the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters in the Philippine Basketball Association. He was originally drafted by the Alaska Aces as the fifth pick in the 2008 PBA Draft. However, he was immediately traded to the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, together with Eddie Laure for Joe Devance and the 2009 and 2010 second round picks of Alaska. He scored a record 29 points in his rookie debut game, the highest since Asi Taulava scored 32 points for Mobiline in his debut. He also scored a career high vs the Aces with 35 points. Then had a 45 point outburst vs the B-me

Jireh Ibanez
Team: Rain or Shine Elasto Painters
Birth date:
Birth Place:

Weight:
Draft (Year):
College / University:
Monicker/Nick:A member of the 2006 All-Rookie Team, this former State University standout had another solid campaign in his third season with the team although his scoring average dropped again because of the arrival of top rookie Gabe Norwood. The 27-year-old guard-forward played a career-high 43 games last season, including 12 starts. Ibanes averaged 3.9 points and 1.7 rebounds in just 13.7 minutes a night exposure. With Jeff Chan joining the team, Ibanes now has to fight for his minutes and his defensive intensity could be his ace to remain in the rotation of the coaching staff.

Jay R Reyes 8
Team: Rain or Shine Elasto Painters
Birth date:
Birth Place:
Height:
Weight:
Draft (Year):
College / University:
Monicker/Nick: A banner year for the former UP stalwart as he earned a spot on the Second Mythical Team, just in his third year in the league, Reyes emerged as the teams No. 2 scorer and top rebounder with 12.2 points and 8.0 rebounds per game in 44 matches and 29.2 minutes per night of playing time. The 25-year-old Tiwi, Albay native collected 31 blocks and his 0.705 swats a night ranked No. 9 overall among locals last season. The six-foot-seven Reyes remains one of the cornerstones of the teams search for its first PBA title together with Gabe Norwood and Sol Mercado. Reyes is undoubtedly one of the upcoming big men in the league today.

Reyes was the youngest player in the 2006–07 PBA season at only 22 years of age. He played 35 games and he averaged 18.5 points per game, 3.8 blocks per game and 9.9 rebounds per game. He was one of the rookies who led the PBA in the top ten in the rebound category.

9 Jeffrei Chan
Team: Rain or Shine Elasto Painters
Birth date:
Birth Place:
Height:
Weight:
Draft (Year):
College / University:
Monicker/Nick:

If not for his teams poor showing, Chan could have been a shoo-in for the All-Rookie Team. The former Far Easter University hotshot had a solid rookie year with Barako Bull as he averaged 9.1 points per game, which was fourth overall among rookies. He played a total of 33 games and started 18 times. Chan will take the role of Rob Waiwnright as the teams lethal weapon in the rainbow territory. The six-foot-two southpaw guard hit 54 three-pointers on 179 attempts last season and Chan may end up as one of Rain or Shines offensive options.

Chan played for the Far Eastern University Tamaraws and averaged 18.6 points per game, 4.8 rebounds per game, and 3.0 assists per game in his seniors. He grew up mostly in Bacolod City playing for University of St. La Salle. Chan started playing since grade school were he became a passionate student of the game. Since then, he was playing basketball for the school, competing in numerous tournaments and giving titles to his school.

He was once a member of a champion team in the ADIDAS Streetball Challenge in Western Visayas. During his High School years in USLS, Chan played numerous leagues in the Bacolod City, and was also chosen to be one of the players for Western Visayas to play in the Palarong Pambansa. Jeff Chan then got many offers from different schools in Manila. He joined the San Beda College training camp but before school started, Chan returned to play with the University of St. La Salle. He spent one last year in his school, then moved to Far Eastern University to play for the team.

In the PBA, after the departure of Cyrus Baguio from the Barako Bull Energy Boosters, Chan became one of the go-to-guys of the team.

In 2009, he was traded to the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters.

10 Gabe Norwood

Team: Rain or Shine Elasto Painters
Birth date:
Birth Place:
Height:
Weight:
Draft (Year):
College / University:
Monicker/Nick:
The two-time FIBA-Asia joust campaigner was the runaway winner of the Rookie of the Year trophy and his consistent showing also gave him a spot on the Second Mythical Team. Norwood played 44 games with 42 starts and his 36.42 minutes per game averaged was No. 6 overall in the league, a proof of the trust and confidence by the coaches on him. The former George Mason University guard averaged 11.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game aside from collecting 51 steals. Norwood is starting to become the franchise player of the team and if he can only be consistent with his perimeter game, the six-foot-five guard can be a legitimate star in the league.

Gabriel Daniel Norwood (born on February 9, 1985) is a Filipino-American professional basketball player and a former NCAA basketball player at George Mason University. Norwood is currently playing for the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters in the Philippine Basketball Association. He is also a two-time member of the Philippine national basketball team.

11 Tyrone Tang
Team: Rain or Shine Elasto Painters
Birth date:
Birth Place:
Height:
Weight:
Draft (Year):
College / University:The team thought TY Tang was a big steal in the 2008 draft after landing the former La Salle guard in the second round. The Elasto Painters indeed found a gem in this five-foot-eight guard who held his own against the leagues best playmakers. Tang was the No. 8 scorer among rookies last season with 7.30 points per game and his 20.23 minutes a night of exposure ranked sixth among his batch, not bad for a second-round selection. He will continue to be the chief reliever of Sol Mercado at the point guard spot.

Tyrone Conrad U. Tang (born in Manila, Philippines) is a Filipino professional basketball player in the Philippine Basketball Association who currently plays for the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters. He was the twelfth overall pick in the 2008 PBA Draft by the Welcoat Dragons. TY Tang was born on September 25, 1984 standing 5'7" and weighing 135 lbs. He played point guard for the De La Salle Green Archers in college. He helped his team to many championships after top players like Renren Ritualo, Mike Cortez, and Joseph Yeo graduated.

18 Ryan Arana
Team: Rain or Shine Elasto Painters
Birth date:
Birth Place:
Height:
Weight:
Draft (Year):
College / University:
Monicker/Nick: Talking about consistency, Ryan Arana had another typical all-around season for the Elasto Painters after averaging 7.8 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. Also a second-round selection in the 2007 draft, Arana emerged as the top defensive guard of the team in the past two seasons. The 26-year-old lefty guard out of La Salle played for 44 games with 11 starts and averaged 19.5 minutes per game. Its really hard to measure his contributions to the team as Arana is known for his intensity and defensive toughness. The six-foot-one guard will be a vital cog in the teams quest for its first-ever crown in the league.

Ryan Araña (born March 23, 1984 in Tondo, Manila, Metro Manila, Philippines) is a Filipino professional basketball player in the Philippine Basketball Association who currently plays for the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters. He was drafted twelfth overall by Rain or Shine in 2007.

20 Jervy Cruz
Team: Rain or Shine Elasto Painters
Birth date:
Birth Place:
Height:
Weight:
Draft (Year):
College / University:
Monicker/Nick:
A former Most Valuable Player in the UAAP, Cruz was one of the reasons why UST pulled off an upset over Ateneo in the 2006 finals of the UAAP. Tabbed third overall in the rookie draft, Rain or Shine got a legitimate inside threat and eased the burden on Jay-R Reyes in that aspect. The six-foot-four forward could be undersized in his position but Cruz has the skills to become effective in the big league. The ex-RP 5 mainstay has a decent outside shot and loves to post although the latter will be heavily tested as he will be going up against taller and heftier big men in the league

44 Doug Kramer
Team: Rain or Shine Elasto Painters
Birth date:
Birth Place:

Weight:
Draft (Year): Career High
Kramer set a career-high 19 rebounds along with 3 blocks and 16 points in Ateneo’s 98-88 win over University of the Philippines in August 20, 2006.
Kramer set a career high in rebounding twice while still with Air21 on his last 2 of 3 games with them before Rain or Shine traded for him. He had 16 points and 17 rebounds in 23 minutes against his former team, Ginebra on June 20, 2010. Then had 17 points and 17 rebounds in 33 minutes against his current team, Rain or Shine on July 4, 2010.

55 Hubert John Ferriols
Team: Rain or Shine Elasto Painters
Birth date:
Birth Place:
Height:
Weight:
Draft (Year):
College / University:
Monicker/Nick:
Hubert John B. Ferriols (born on September 9, 1974 in Davao City, Philippines), better known simply as John Ferriols, is a Filipino professional basketball player for the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters in the Philippine Basketball Association.
A former star in the defunct MBA, Ferriols just could not get the right timing for his career to finally take off in the league. Playing in his third team in his third season in the PBA, this Davao City-born cager still managed to find ways to be useful to the teams that he has played with. He started his career with the Air21 Express and then with Talk 'N Text Phone Pals.
In Alaska, the 6′4 southpaw forward got enough playing time and has improved with the tutelage of Tim Cone, but still a far cry from his dominating presence in the defunct MBA.
Ferriols was signed by the Barangay Ginebra Kings for the 2010 PBA Fiesta Conference. After he was waived by Ginebra, Rain or Shine then signed him.
