Name: Rico Maierhofer
Jersey Number: 1
Team: Derby
Ace
Birthdate: 1985-11-04
Birthplace: Pasay City
Height: 6'6"
Weight: 175 lbs.
Position: Forward
Draft(Year): 3rd
overall by Purefoods (2009)
College/University: De La Salle University
Monicker/Nick:

The former La Salle star was
selected No. 2 overall pick in the rookie draft and coach Ryan Gregorio
knows the team found a gem in him. The six-foot-five forward gives
versatility in the Giants frontline as Maierhofer is a quick and
athletic forward who gives priority on defense although he was also
known as a scorer in the UAAP and PBL.

But the question for the Puerto Galera-born cager is whether he can
withstand the pushing and shoving in the shaded lane. The 23-year-old
Maierhofer has already developed a decent perimeter game and what he
needs to work on is his ball-handling skills and post-up game.

Draft(Year): 9th overall
overall by Magnolia (2007)
College/University: Far Eastern University
Monicker/Nick:

He was selected 9th Overall Pick during the 2008 PBA Rookie Draft by the San Miguel Beermen. He struggled as he played a backup role under long time veteran Olsen Racela. But then, he was promoted as the team's starting point guard when former no. 1 draft pick Mike Cortez fell into a season-ending injury and the team's long-time floor leader Olsen Racela's game starting to fade away.

In the 2008-09 PBA season, he was awarded the Most Improved Player award. He won the Fern-C Finals MVP honor after winning the 2009 PBA Fiesta Conference Championship with San Miguel.[1]

Name: Kerby Raymundo
Jersey Number: 5
Team: BMEG Derby Ace
Birthdate: 1981-01-19
Birthplace: Bataan
Height: 6'7"
Weight: 215 lbs.
Position: Forward
Draft(Year): Elevated by Batang Red Bull Energizers (2000)
College/University: Colegio de San Juan de Letran
Monicker/Nick: The Kid

It was only in Raymundo's junior year in Jose Rizal Institute (high school) that he started playing basketball. He was discovered by Mollet Pineda, a former Colegio de San Juan de Letran player and coach.

Raymundo played for Letran in the NCAA from 1997-1999 and made significant impact for the Knights alongside future PBA players Chris Calaguio and Willie Miller. From 1998-1999, he was a member of the Knights' back-to-back NCAA championships with victories over five-peat champion San Sebastian Stags and the JRU Heavy Bombers, respectively. He was named NCAA MVP in 1999. He also played for the Philippines in the 1999 Southeast Asian Games as the country won the gold medal.

He played for Red Bull in the Philippine Basketball League, teaming up with future teammates Jimwell Torion, Lordy Tugade, Junthy Valenzuela, and Fil-American recruit Davonn Harp, but never led the Energy Kings to a title in his only stint in 1999. His auntie Nena Pizarro, a former head of Department of Education, was the one who falsified his transcript in order for him to enter the PBA Draft early. He was later suspended for a year.

Name: Peter June Simon
Jersey Number: 8
Team: BMEG Derby Ace
Birthdate: 1980-06-01
Birthplace: Cotabato
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 180 lbs.
Position: Guard
Draft(Year): 13th overall by Sta. Lucia (2001)
College/University: University of Mindanao
Monicker/Nick: Super Sub

While still playing for Fash in the PBL, Purefoods offered him a two-year contract as a rookie free agent. He was actually drafted by the Sta. Lucia Realtors as the forty-third overall pick in the 2001 PBA Draft. He toiled for a while in the MBA and PBL where he further enhanced his skills.

But like his stints in the MBA and PBL, his PBA career did not start hot as he played behind fellow star rookie James Yap. In Purefoods' seventh game in the One Philippines Cup, however, PJ got his game going as he led Purefoods in a come-from-behind win over Alaska, by scoring four of his team-high 18 points in the final eleven seconds of the game.

In his first three seasons in the PBA, PJ Simon only showed flashes of his brilliance far and wide. In the 2007 PBA Fiesta Cup, he was named Accel PBA Player of the Week for the period May 6 to 13. He came up with a team-high 22 points in a game against Coke on May 4 [55][56][57][58] then on May 13, he exploded for PBA career-high 31 points and also grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Purefoods in routing Ginebra, 117-105.

The 33rd season of the PBA proved to be the coming-out party for PJ Simon. While he was still in the giant shadow of his more famous teammates, he created his niche by being the super sub for his team. As Purefoods set a franchise-record of 7-0 to start a season, PJ was the biggest hero in two of those wins. He scored 15 of his game-high 27 points in the first quarter to lead Purefoods to its fifth straight win as they massacred Ginebra, 103-76, on November 4, 2007.[61][62][63]

Then ten days later, he once more top scored Purefoods by making 22 points in their 100-81 rout on Air21, tying the franchise's best to start in the All-Filipino.
In the Finals, PJ Simon had four scintillating games. Purefoods lost however to Sta. Lucia in seven games. But nevertheless, PJ Simon averaged 13.3 points to firmly establish himself as Purefoods' primary offensive off the bench.

Name: Rommel Nino Canaleta
Jersey Number: 9
Team: BMEG Derby Ace
Birthdate: 1982-02-12
Birthplace: Tarlac
Height: 6'5"
Weight: 200 lbs.
Position: Small Forward
Draft(Year): 6th overall by Air21 (2005)
College/University: University of the East
Monicker/Nick: Da Vinci of Dunk

He made a serious run for the Rookie of the Year honors with an impressive Philippine Cup campaign where he averaged 16.2 points per game, No. 1 among rookies and seventh in the tournament among locals. But a so-so performance in the Fiesta Conference and two finals stints of Red Bull made Larry Fonacier a no-brainer for the award.

Canaleta is undoubtedly one of the biggest attractions in the league with his jaw-dropping, never-seen slams by a local player. The 6-6 forward was a back-to-back-to-back winner of the Slam-Dunk competition, both by convincing fashion. He was ranked number 2 in scoring among rookies during his rookie year with 9.4 points per outing. Cañaleta was the first Philippine Basketball Association player to become a 4-time PBA Slamdunk Champion. He was also awarded by the PBA to be the Mr. Quality Minutes Player in 2010

Name: Romel Adducul
Jersey Number: 10
Team: BMEG Derby Ace
Birthdate: 1976-04-21
Birthplace: Tugegarao, Cagayan
Height: 6'6"
Weight: 225 lbs.
Position: Center/Forward
Draft(Year): 2nd overall by Barangay Ginebra (2003)
College/University: San Sebastian College-Recoletos
Monicker/Nick: The General

In college, Adducul, a three-time Most Valuable Player, led the San Sebastian Stags to five consecutive NCAA basketball championships from 1993 to 1997. At the same time, he was a star in the Philippine Basketball League.

In 1998, Adducul joined the Philippines' second professional league, the now defunct Metropolitan Basketball Association. In 1999, he led the Manila Metrostars to a championship together with American Alex Compton, who's a long-time Philippines resident, and was awarded with the Play-off MVP and the Finals MVP. In 2000, Adducul was named MBA Most Valuable Player. In 2001, the Metrostars merged with the Batangas Blades and the coalition team won that year's championship. Unfortunately, the league did not last long and Adducul ended his career in the MBA with the Pangasinan Waves in 2002.

Adducul is a many-time member of the Philippine national basketball team and led the country to four consecutive Southeast Asia Basketball Association championships (1998-2001). He also led the national team to three consecutive South East Asian Games gold medals (1997, 1999, 2001). Adducul is a three-time member of the FIBA Asia All-Star Selection (1997, 1998, 2000) and in 2000, he led the All-Star team against the Philippine Basketball Association All-Stars.

At the same year, he returned briefly in the PBL and won that year's MVP award.

Yap entered the 2004 PBA Draft, and was selected as the second overall pick by the Purefoods Tender Juicy Giants. Bothered by an ailing shoulder, Yap had a slow start in the 2004-2005 season. Later on, he simprove as he had numerous games of which he scored 20 or more points. However, the Purefoods failed to get past the quarterfinal round against the Shell Turbo Chargers. Eventually, he lost to Rich Alvarez in the Rookie of the Year race.

In the 2005-06 Fiesta Conference, Yap was 4th in the statistical race, behind at the end of the semifinals series, while the Giants finished 4-2 at the series conclusion. In the classification round of the Philippine Cup, he recorded 34 points against the Sta. Lucia Realtors then had a career-high 37 points to beat Barangay Ginebra Kings. Near the end of the round, he played an important role in the win against the powerhouse team Talk 'N Text.[8] The victory put the Purefoods team in a best-of-seven semifinals slot.

After the accumulation of player statistics at the end of the semis, Yap edged out teammate Kerby Raymundo and Red Bulls' Enrico Villanueva for the Philippine Basketball Association Most Valuable Player award. This made him, at 24 years of age, the fifth youngest players, and second sophomore to have won the individual award. He was the statistical leader and garnered more than 7000 combined votes from players, the 4-man committee, and the media, almost 5000 votes ahead of the rest of the candidates. He was also named to the Mythical First Team alongside teammates Raymundo and Roger Yap, and on-court rivals Enrico Villanueva and Lordy Tugade. In the 2006-07 season, he had back-to-back 40-point games against Welcoat and Coca-Cola.

Purefoods swept Alaska, 4-0, to be crowned 2009-2010 PBA Philippine Cup champions. For leading his team to this incredible feat, Yap was named Best Player of the Conference (BPC), as well as Finals MVP. He also won his second MVP award, for the 2009-2010 PBA season.

He is an undrafted player in the Philippine Basketball Association in 2005, and as such he never saw action in the league. After playing collegiately for Polytechnic University of the Philippines (undergraduate) and the De La Salle Green Archers (as a graduate student, for the 2003 and 2004 seasons), he played for the Harbour Centre franchise in the Philippine Basketball League, where he honed his skills as an enforcer.

Gaco also saw action for the Laguna Stallions in the semi-professional Liga Pilipinas regional league.

Prior to being drafted in the PBL, CT competed in the 2009 Flex Unity Cup where he suited up as Point Guard for the Oracle Titans. While with the Titans, he helped the squad capture their 7th straight PBL Championship. As one of their key players, CT also nabbed the Finals MVP trophy. With a rather quiet, but strong disposition he is a true point guard in nature. As a student of the game and of other point guards, onlookers have compared him to the likes of NBA stars like Chris Paul and Tim Hardaway. Chris prides himself on observation, lots of discipline, good old fashioned hard work and prayer to get him to the next level.

He previously played for the Toyota Sparks, also in the PBL during the Flex Linoleum Cup; they failed to advance and decided to take a hiatus for the next conference. CT was acquired by the Titans during the dispersal draft.

Name: Don Carlos Allado
Jersey Number: 41
Team: BMEG Derby Ace
Birthdate: 1979-06-10
Birthplace: Manila
Height: 6'6"
Weight: 220 lbs.
Position: Center/Power Forward
Draft(Year): Direct Hire by Alaska Aces (1999)
College/University: De La Salle University
Monicker/Nick: King Archer

He started out his amateur career playing for De La Salle University in 1996 and he played for the Green Archers and dominated the amateur ranks until the 1999-2000 season, including the Philippine Basketball League. He is known as "The King Archer" amongst the De La Salle community. Don Led his team in scoring throughout most of his 4 year stay with the archers and has also led the Philippine Basketball League in scoring and rebounding. He was the Most Valuable Player in only his 3rd year after the elimination rounds in the 1998-1999 season and also the finals Most Valuable Player. He wasn't satisfied and continued to do the same thing the next season and so he captured again the elimination rounds Most Valuable Player and the finals Most Valuable Player awards for the 1999-2000 season. They were known as the millennium champions. Don has been part of the mythical five teams since his sophomore year until his 4th year. Also he played for all the UAAP All Star teams. De La Salle University has not won the crown in well over 8 years and Don Carlos Allado was the key player in capturing and starting a legacy for the De La Salle University Green Archers Men's Basketball. He left in 1999 and the program he left continued the winning tradition that he started.

He played in the Philippine Basketball League under Wilkins Distilled Water in 1998 for 1 conference until it disbanded. Welcoat Paints immediately picked up the talented power forward and he won the first ever championship in franchise history. He was also named season MVP and finals MVP for the 1999-2000 season. He was also named into the mythical team for 2 years in a row.

He was a direct hire in 1999 by the Alaska Aces together with the likes of Asi Taulava and Eric Menk. After playing seven solid years with Alaska, in December 2006, he was shipped to the Talk 'N Text Phone Pals for Willie Miller and John Ferriols. Allado was again traded by the Talk 'N Text Tropang Texters for Ranidel de Ocampo to the Air21 Express. He wasn't satisfied with the situation he was in so after one season with Air21, he requested to be sent immediately to the Purefoods Tender Juicy Giants.

Don has been a member of the PBA mythical team for 3 years, and has been on the PBA All Star team for 3 years as well. He played with the national team that traveled to different countries including playing an exhibition game against the NBA veteran Dennis Rodman and other NBA legends. He has won 2 championships and is one of the "smartest" players to play in the PBA.
