Talk n Text just stayed on like a runaway freight train.

The Tropang Texters tore to shreds the Air21 Express, 114-96, one more time Sunday night and moved a win shy of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup finals at the Araneta Coliseum.

The Texters, in chase of back-to-back finals and 10th in all in franchise history, take their first of three cracks at it Wednesday in the same venue.

“Our priority tonight is to play better than what we did in Game One, and I think we achieved that,” said Talk n Text coach Chot Reyes.

“But celebrating is still the farthest thing in our minds. We have to stay committed to our game. That’s important,” Reyes added. “I still believe Alpha Bangura is the best import in the league and we have to do our job to prevent him from torching us.”

Like in Game One, the Texters imposed their game right at the start and dominated the Express throughout.

Sustaining an amazing romp dating back to the preliminary round, the Texters sent the Express back on the brink of elimination.

“Talagang sobrang lakas ng Talk n Text. Pang-championship talaga. We need to bring our A-plus game to upset them,” said Air21 coach Bong Ramos.

“Ginawa na namin lahat. Nagkumbinasyon ako ng apat na malaki, apat na maliit at kung anu-ano, wala pa rin,” Ramos added. “But I can’t blame my players. We played our eighth game in 17 days. It’s like we’re playing a game in every two days.”

Talk n Text did play better Sunday than Friday with the Texters getting to a jackrabbit start and hardly slowing down to the finish.

“We limited them to 11 points in first quarter and that set the tone for the whole game,” said Reyes.

With import Paul Harris again leading their charge, the Texters took the first quarter at 28-11, led by as many as 27 in the next quarter and showed a killer instinct in holding on to a big lead in the final half.

Harris fired 12 points in the opening period and finished with 29 points, six rebounds and two assists against four turnovers.

Ryan Reyes, Jimmy Alapag and Ranidel de Ocampo contributed double-digit outputs and the rest had their hand defensively.

The Texters held Bangura down to 18 points and three rebounds.

The Express need to win three in a row to salvage the series.

"Baka makuha pa rin yan. Di kami susuko. Who knows? Only God knows. But first things first; we have to win Wednesday," said Ramos. (SB)
