Actor Gerald Anderson's quest to play in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) D-League will have to take a backseat -- for now.

This was disclosed by player agent Charlie Dy, who explained that Anderson will be having a two-week promotional tour in the United States that will prevent him from attending practices for North Luzon Expressway (NLEX).

"Gerald will not play in the D-League as his showbiz schedule will conflict with practices and games," Dy posted in his Facebook account.

Anderson attended the practices of NLEX in a bid to earn a spot in the team. He even watched the Road Warriors' game against RnW Pacific Pipes last Thursday.

NLEX coach Boyet Fernandez recently said that the team appreciated Anderson’s interest and even praised the actor when he attended the team’s practices. But the PBA champion coach Fernandez is not closing the door on the actor’s possible inclusion.

In his previous interview with Mico Halili in his "The Final Score" column in GMA News, Anderson, a varsity player in General Santos City, expressed his intentions of playing competitive basketball as he wants to pursue his passion by practicing with NLEX.

"Gusto ko lang i-fulfill ang passion ko, yung dreams ko at gusto ko rin maging inspirasyon sa ibang tao na mahilig din sa sports," Anderson told Halili.
