Garvo Lanete scored 22 points as the Maynilad Water Dragons downed Max Bond Super Glue, 82-61, yesterday in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the FEU gym. Nigerian Sudan Daniel added 19 points that went with his seven rebounds and four blocks while Antonio Caram had six assists for Maynilad, which bounced back from a 70-78 loss against Cobra Energy Drink in their kick off game on opening day.
“We’re not yet in top form,” said coach Frankie Lim, who expects his chargers to be in peak form after their training in the US in May.
Built around reigning NCAA champ San Beda Red Lions, the Water Dragons shot 51 percent from the field while holding the Sumos to 21 of 74 shooting with their disciplined zone to offset their 39-55 defeat off the boards.
