There will no longer be lopsided trades in the Philippine Basketball Association.
That’s the aim of league Commissioner Chito Salud as he continues to reject one-sided deals and make them as fair as possible.
Since he took over the chores of being the league head in September, Salud made it a point to monitor all the transactions being made to make sure that the trades in the league are for basketball purposes alone.
Last week, Salud instructed both San Miguel Beer and Air21 to revise their original proposals in their blockbuster deal, resulting in a more balanced swapping.
In the trades that happened the past few months, Salud made sure that everything is fair and he will continue to be strict in the teams’ future moves. The first-year commissioner believes that the PBA fans know well enough if a certain trade is lopsided.
‘’I urge all our member teams in the PBA to be circumspect in forging trades in the future because our fans today are discerning,’’ said Salud.
