WITH just a little over a week removed from its Philippine Basketball Association Philippine Cup conquest, Talk ‘N Text will quickly get back to work.

After a week-long celebration and partying, the Tropang Texters resume practice on Monday to start their training camp for the 2011 Commissioner’s Cup, which will begin on Friday.

‘’We really didn’t have enough time to celebrate. We’ll start practicing again on Monday for the second conference after we took the week off,’’ said Reyes.

The Texters will once again be the favorite to win the upcoming import-laden conference and Reyes knows that.

“We have a great chance of winning back-to-back titles with this core and hopefully we can do that this second conference. That’s our focus now,” Reyes said.

Everything is well in place as the team is intact with no injuries, plus it is already familiar with its import Paul Harris, who has been with the squad for three weeks now and has already practiced with the team during the finals of the All-Filipino.

‘’Our import has been here for a couple of weeks now and already practiced with us since the finals so that helps.’’

Having seen what Harris can do, Reyes said that the team is happy with its import.

’We really like Paul Harris,” Reyes added.

The scary thing, at least for other teams, is that Reyes believes that despite his team winning the last conference, the Texters will even get better as they go along.

‘’I think this team will even get better just by staying together and playing more together.’’

Team captain and Co-Philippine Cup Finals Most Valuable Player Jimmy Alapag expressed the same sentiment with regards to the team’s goal of winning a second straight crown.

‘’We hope to win another title. We understand that the next conference is coming up fast. We’re fortunate to have our import with us for quite some time now and he already saw firsthand the quality of basketball here in the PBA.’’

‘’We’re going to get right back to work to try and do it all over again.’’
