After jolting defeats in Games Three and Four that allowed San Miguel Beer to tie their Philippine Basketball Association Philippine Cup titular series at two games apiece, the Talk ’N Text coach readily declared they have no chance against the Beermen if Williams and Peek don’t show up.

It certainly didn’t look that way when the Tropang Texters opened a 2-0 series lead and it appeared the Beermen were grossly overmatched.
According to Reyes, TNT’s success, particularly in Games One and Two, looked so easy because he has the full compliment of players.
“The presumption there is that everybody is doing their job. But if people are absent, it becomes very, very hard,” he contended.
“Kelly and Ali have taken a vacation. Akala yata nila tapos na,” said Reyes, stressing the duo have been practically non-existent in Games Three and Four.
Peek averaged 9.5 points and 11.5 rebounds in the first two games. But his effort noticeably dipped in the next two games, combining for five points and 14 rebounds in two games.
Williams, on the other hand, wasn’t exactly doing good offensively but he was excellent on defense in Games One and Two, enabling the Tropang Texters to win both games.
Reyes said how they will cope the rest of the series depends on his 10 men being present.
Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case in Game Three. “Last game we played with four missing persons. We didn’t have Ryan Reyes, we didn’t have Jarred Dillinger, we didn’t have Williams and we didn’t have Peek,” Reyes pointed out.
“Tonight [Game Four] Ryan Reyes returned, tremendous effort on Ryan Reyes’s part, but still Peek and Williams continued to be missing. We need to find them.”
And because Peek and Williams are key to their success in the series, the TNT coach suggested that perhaps it would be best if they post a missing persons bulletin to hopefully get them back in time for Game Five.
