Business Tycoon Manny Pangilinan says his TV5 network group is keen on getting the television coverage of the PBA games after the team owners ruled out the possibility of airing the games on an UHF Channel. The league’s team owners on Tuesday said the PBA should strictly be aired on free TV, preempting an announcement by Solar Sports that it had already reached a deal that would have ABS-CBN airing the games over Studio 23.
Pangilinan said TV5 would be talking to commissioner Chito Salud on the TV coverage and promised that “if we are fortunate to cover the games, we will have more cameras which should be HD (high definition) because eventually the whole industry will switch to HD anyway.”
“The microphones have to be improved on court and off court, the transmission facilities and the clarity of the picture,” added Pangilinan.
