With the same formula of a pressing defense and a run-and-gun offense in mind, the Talk n Text Tropang Texters will try to march forward in a bid to finish on top in the 2010-11 PBA Philippine Cup.

The Texters seek to sustain the momentum of their Game One win in Victorias City, Negros
Occidental, going for a two-game lead over the San Miguel Beermen in Game Two of their best-of-seven title showdown at the Cuneta Astrodome 7 p.m. Wednesday.

“There’s no secret that we play an up-tempo game. We’ll continue trying to impose our game on them,” said Talk n Text coach Chot Reyes.

“We’ll continue to press them and try to run the breaks. If we can do that, we’ll be okay,”
said TnT chief playmaker Jimmy Alapag.

Ryan Reyes is raring to put in his share, hoping they can get a 2-0 lead before he leaves for the
United States to attend the burial of his younger brother Allan Raymond. He’ll miss Game Three.

Despite the sad news of his brother’s passing, Reyes played a solid game in Game One Saturday, helping Talk n Text score a 91-82 victory.

Talk n Text tries to press on, promising to be ready for an expected tough SMB fightback.

“All it (Game One win) means is a 1-0 lead. The series has just begun,” said Reyes.

San Miguel is determined to get even, wary of falling to a 0-2 hole.

“Patay kami kapag naka 2-0 sila. Mahirap bigyan ng ganyang lamang ang team gaya ng Talk n
Text,” said San Miguel coach Ato Agustin.

SMB top forward Jay Washington, who failed to finish Game One due to cramps, vows to come out more determined not just tonight but in Game Three, hoping they can go ahead at 2-1.

The Beermen wavered at crunch time with Washington out due to cramps, allowing the Tropang Texters to pull off a come-from-behind win.

Arwind Santos also suffered from cramps towards the end of the third but was able to return and finish the game with double-double numbers.

“If anything, maybe because it’s hot out there. It had never happened to me before, cramping so early in the game,” said Washington.

"Mainit doon. Nasanay kami sa lamig sa Araneta Coliseum," said Santos.

Technically, Talk n Text beat San Miguel in Game One with a press and a running attack.

“We have to solve their defense. Nauubos ang oras namin sa pressure nila sa ball handlers namin. By the time makarating kami sa front court, gahol na to run our plays,” said Agustin.

“Masama ang shot selection namin dahil sa press nila. Sa fastbreak talo din kami,” Agustin also
said.

The rookie SMB coach said they also have to find a good match-up for Jason Castro.

“Even before the series, I was thinking Jason would give us a big problem,” said Agustin.

Castro, a third-year pro from Philippine Christian U, is a tough match-up for any of the San Miguel guards, being quick and strong.

The 5-foot-10 Bacolor, Pampanga native put in a game-high 16 points plus five assists, two rebounds and two assists, playing 27 minutes off the bench.

Agustin may try Olsen Racela on Castro Wednesday night. Racela was kept on the bench in Game One.
