MANILA, Philippines - NBA legend AC Green will visit Manila in April as part of the program being conducted by the Jr. NBA Philippines. Green, who holds the league record for playing in 1,192 consecutive games, will supervise the Jr. NBA drills and challenges. He is also scheduled to conduct the activities of NBA Cares.
The 47-year-old Green played 16 seasons in the NBA from 1985-2001, suiting up for the Los Angeles Lakers, Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks and the Miami Heat. He averaged 9.6 points and 7.4 rebounds in 1,278 games played.
His most notable stints was with the Lakers where he played for the 1987 and 1988 championship teams coached by Pat Riley and starred by Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and James Worthy.
Green rejoined the Lakers in 2000 and played a minor role in the team's title conquest led by Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant and mentored by Phil Jackson. He currently runs a camp known as the AC Green Foundation.
