MANILA, Philippines — Import Rasheim Wright has been cleared to play this Saturday as the Philippine Patriots try to reaffirm their over the Chang Thailand Tigers in the AirAsia ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) Season 2 at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Wright strained his hamstring in the fourth quarter of the Patriots' impressive 87-85 double overtime victory over the Singapore Slingers on Sunday but coach Louie Alas said that doctors gave him the go signal to suit up against the Slammers.

"No injury was found and he will play," said Alas, whose Patriots tote a six-win, one-loss slate. "(Wright) just needs to do some strengthening drills."

The star of the Jordanian national team had a superb debut for the squad of owners Mikee Romero and Tony Boy Cojuangco.

He registered 22 points, five assists, three rebounds and three steals in 39 minutes of action before getting hurt.

The match against Thailand, currently in second at 5-2, marks the first home game for Wright since replacing Anthony Johnson, who likewise had a recurring hamstring injury.

The PH Patriots won their initial match with the Slammers when they hacked out a 54-48 win a month ago in Bangkok.
