Andre Miller scored 26 points and the Portland Trail Blazers defeated the shorthanded San Antonio Spurs 100-92 on Monday (Tuesday in Manila).

The Blazers beat the National Basketball Association’s most successful team this season for the second time in three days as San Antonio’s big three of Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Tim Duncan sat out with injuries.

Gerald Wallace scored 14 points for Portland and nailed a key three-point shot with just over two minutes remaining.

George Hill finished with 27 points for the Spurs while rookie Tiago Splitter chipped in 14 points for San Antonio.

The Spurs are in the midst of their longest losing skid of the season having lost four consecutive games.

San Antonio had a seven-game lead over the Los Angeles Lakers in the West standings a week ago but after dropping three games on a road trip and losing to Portland at home they are now just 3 1/2 games in front.

Wesley Matthews had 19 points, and Nicolas Batum finished with 10 points and 13 rebounds for the Blazers.

Portland led throughout the first half, but surrendered the lead late in the third quarter as the Spurs entered the fourth quarter ahead 72-67.

But Portland got their act together and buried the Spurs with a 15-1 run and clinched the victory with Wallace’s three-pointer.

Ginobili (left quad contusion), Duncan (left ankle sprain) and Parker (left knee contusion) were missing from the lineup. San Antonio was also without Antonio McDyess with a sore back.

Spurs coach Gregg Popovich is hoping to have Parker back for the next game against Boston.
